Introduction

Whilst vertical systems are commonly used for polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, this newly developed unit’s horizontal format allows for a large number of samples to be run simultaneously and combines this with the greater resolution of polyacrylamide compared with agarose.  The model is based on the published work of Izzo et al (2006).
The main advantage of the system is that it is very simple to pour and cast the gels which takes away some of the complexity normally associated with vertical gel casting.

The system consist of a large tray with predrilled sample wells, 56 per tow. The tray is offered with either a single or double row of samples for a total of 112 samples.

The gel is cast in the tray on treated glass plates. The bubble level helps you keep the tray level and the keys help you to remove the glass plate/set gel assembly for insertion into the running tank.
